The University of Minnesota Extension Service and Beef Team will again offer the Cow/Calf Day program on February 14. The Southeast Minesota program will be in Rochester at the Rochester Event Center, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.
The Minnesota Board of Animal Health is pleased to be a part of this event. Board staff members will provide information on changes to rules pertaining to cattle and how farmers can obtain free official identification for their livestock.
Other topics include cattle handling, marketing, market trends and reproductive technologies to improve profits. This includes an update of the NRCS/USDA Grazing project from an NRCS representative; Cattle Handling: A Change in Perspective and Facilities by Dr. Bethany Funnell; Marketing Cattle to the Processor and Consumer by Dr. Ryan Cox; Beef Market Trends and Marketing Plans During Low Cow Inventories by Dr. Alfredo DiCostanzo; and Reproductive Technologies to Improve Profits by Dr. Allen Bridges.
A registration fee of $20 includes a meal and a CD or paper copy of the proceedings. Please pre-register with the location coordinator at (425) 246-6131 or devanpaulus@gmail.com at least one week prior to the event.
