I had the opportunity to travel to Florida for a week on January 8 through January 15. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 8:00 that morning, at which it was 22 degrees in Minneapolis. Not to mention it was my first time flying, so I was a little nervous, and it was approximately a two and a half hour flight to the Orlando International Airport. The flying experience was enjoyable, and as we landed in Orlando, I was ready for a good week.
When we landed in Orlando we got off the plane, picked up our luggage, got into our rental car, and headed for our resort. Driving to our resort, the temperature in the car read 78 degrees. We arrived at our resort, unpacked our bags and headed out into the busy Orlando complex.
Throughout our week in Orlando we experienced many things. We spent two days between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, two days between Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. We traveled to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, and spent a day there playing in the ocean. The other two days we spent time at the resort and relaxed in the sun, poolside.
The time I spent down there was incredible. The weather was flawless, as it was between 82 and 88 degrees every day. People also say that Disney World is the happiest place on earth, and I might have to agree. Even though I am 18 years old, that experience was amazing. It may sound tacky, but it kind of made me feel like a little kid again. Last but not least, let me say that if you have a chance to travel at a young age, take advantage of it. That opportunity is not always going to be there for you. Although I did get a very good tan, I’m glad to be back in Minnesota, even if it is 60-70 degrees cooler.
