2013 Winter Crops Day

The 2013 Winter Crops Day will be coming to Caledonia on Wednesday, January 16. This interesting and educational event will be held at the Good Times Restaurant, 118 Bissen Street. Registration will begin at 8:30 am with the program beginning at 9:00 am and will conclude at 2:30 pm.

Topics for the day include: Crop Year Review/Weeds to Watch out for and Strategies for Control; Nutrient Management for Atypical Weather; Corn Production: Tips for Efficient Grain and Silage Production; Alfalfa Production: Varieties, Management and Quality; Scouting/Identifying Plant Diseases in Corn & Soybeans; Corn Rootworm Trait Failures: Where do we go From Here; and the Extension Update.

Presenters include Lisa Behnken, UM Extension; Fritz Breitenbach, UM Extension; Jeff Coulter, UM Soil, Water & Climate; Tom Hoverstad, UM Southern Research & Outreach Center; Dean Malvick, UM Plant Pathology; Ken Ostlie, UM Entomology; Craig Sheaffer, UM Agronomy & Plant Genetics; and Jeff Vetsch, UM Southern Research & Outreach Center.
