The economic landscape appears to be crazier than the weather as the Nordic winds flow out of Canada and many of you nestle in for planning in 2013 and beyond. The great supercycle in commodities is now entering its second decade creating unprecedented profits and wealth for some, but challenging even the best managers in some industries.
This webcast series with well-known Farm Management professor, Dr. David Kohl, Professor Emeritus at Virginia Tech, is a great way to stay updated on the latest information that is critical in planning, as well as networking with peers and interacting with professionals who are making an investment of resources and time to enhance your business, family, and personal lives. The webcast series is designed for highly motivated lifelong learners who are managing their businesses and lives in the greatest supercycle in the past century.
Each webcast will have a specific theme with questions submitted by participants to increase dialogue and interaction with the presenter. Short take home exercises, to be completed individually and/or as a group, will be utilized as instructional tools, and, when applicable, as feedback and discussion during future webcasts.
Dates: January 14, Quick Economic Reads in the Great Supercycle”; January 28, “Business Growth and Evolution in the Supercycle”; February 4, “Farmland Boom or Bust in the Great Supercycle”, February 11, “Financial & Management Issues in the Great Supercycle”; and March 11, “After the Fact.”
Each meeting will include a discussion/workgroup assignment from Dr. Kohl. This time of discussion will be hosted by Dan, Wayne or Jerry.
Time: 12 Noon - 1:15 pm (with discussion to follow). Lunch is available to purchase on-site.
