Orlenn “O.P.” Peterson
Orlenn “O.P.” Peterson, age 71, of Canton, Minnesota, formerly of the Mabel area, died suddenly on Monday, November 12, 2012 in Canton.
Orlenn was born February 23, 1941, in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Ardis Peterson. He attended the Mabel Schools. He married Signe Onsgard Duneman. They later divorced. He worked as a farm laborer, a truck driver both locally and over the road, and then at Featherlite in Cresco, Iowa for several years until his retirement. He enjoyed truck and tractor pulls.
Orlenn is survived by two grandchildren, Brooklyn Jo and Fredrick Joseph Stevenson; three half-brothers Neil Forde of Holman, Wisconsin; James Forde of Forest Lake, Minnesota; and Brian Forde of Pontiac, Michigan; half-sister Mary Halvik of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; three uncles Merle Peterson of Mabel, John Peterson of Preston, and Gary Peterson of Northfield. He was preceded in death by his daughter Amanda and his mother Ardis.
Funeral services were Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Garness Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
