Chosen Valley Threads in Chatfield, Minn. has changed locations after being located in the previous building for 13 years. Mat and Lisa Vaupel took over as owners of Chosen Valley Threads in May of 2012, which was then located at 217 S. Main Street in Chatfield. Shortly thereafter the building at 203 S. Main Street became available and the Vaupels thought the location offered many opportunities for a growing business.
The move from one building to another, in October 2012, was “awesome” stated Lisa. Family and employees pitched in during the transition. The fact that the business was relocating just down the block helped to make the move go smoothly as well.
Lisa really likes the openness of the new space with high ceilings and large front windows that provide a bright and airy showroom. The building provides more workspace for Lisa and the employees, which is and added advantage. Lisa said that she is “excited about having a storage area in the back” which she did not have in the past. The large front windows of the building will provide Chosen Valley Threads the opportunity for displays of merchandise.
Lisa said she has had “tons of compliments” from customers on the new space. “I absolutely love it,” stated Lisa, adding that even though they just moved in to the building, she feels as though it has been a couple of months. Lisa said it’s like they were “meant to be here.”
Chosen Valley Threads offers custom embroidery on any item that can be embroidered. The store offers many items for sale on display which can be embroidered to suit a customer’s needs, and offer design help also. Towels for personal monogramming are available in a variety of colors which would make great wedding gifts, as would the afghans on display.
Chosen Valley Threads has a large supply of Chatfield Gopher items and will help out any other school with its school apparel. Beyond embroidery, Chosen Valley Threads offers screen printing, heat transfer, and vinyl lettering. The business employees four people at the current time.
An Open House will be held at Chosen Valley Threads on Saturday, November 17, 2012, for customers to view the new space and also to promote holiday gift items. Business hours are Monday - closed, Tuesday through Thursday - 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The phone number for Chosen Valley Threads is (507) 867-0111.
