F & M Bank of Preston, Minn., has received a facelift which both the bank customers and staff appreciate. According to Dan Christianson, CEO of F & M Bank of Preston, the remodel was necessary, as many items needed to be updated. “The counters were in tough shape,” he stated. The counters were approximately 15 years old and had many scratches. The 30-year-old cabinets were in disrepair, were not working well, and needed to be replaced. Christianson noted the bank wanted to “better utilize the space” when the area was remodeled.
The remodeling project began on June 1, 2012. F & M hired a firm from Rochester by the name of Construction Collaborative to complete the project. Construction Collaborative does a lot of work with businesses who have to keep operating noted Christianson. The remodel was finished the end of August, 2012. The updated look includes a new teller line and offices behind the teller line. Another piece of the remodeling project has yet to arrive. Dan Christianson explained that there was an old safe in the bank vault which is being restored. When completed, the safe will be on display in the bank.
Mr. Christianson has received many positive comments from customers, as well as employees, saying the new colors are warm and inviting. Linda Means, a customer of F & M Bank, said she “loves the colors,” and thinks the remodel is “very nice.” Jenny Niemeyer, a teller at F & M Bank, said the comments she hears most often from customers about the remodel are “comfortable” and “homey-looking.”
F & M Bank of Preston invites everyone to stop in and see the new and improved area. Bank hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 - 4:00, Friday 8:30 - 5:00, and Saturday 8:30 - 10:30.
