Letter about LGBT Center
To the Editor,
The tri-state LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region recently held its second annual Soiree fundraiser at a local home in Houston County. The event hosted forty-six supporters and guests for an evening of wine, gourmet appetizers and camaraderie with a silent auction of donations by local artists, artisans and crafts people.
Minnesota and Wisconsin lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and trans- gendered people and allies celebrated the presence of the La Crosse area LGBT Center which was established in 2004. Two main goals of the Center are to Provide Connections and Promote Understanding. Activities of the Center include a safe space people can visit, a library, networking and education within the communities, and support for adults and youth to address issues of gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Center serves the communities of Southeastern Minnesota, Northeastern Iowa and West central Wisconsin encouraging everyone to celebrate and embrace diversity as a human rights issue. If you’d like to learn more about the LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region visit the website at www.7riverslgbt.org or call (608) 784-0452.
