Hundreds of dozens of cookies were up for grabs at the Cookie Walk at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Cookies, cookies, and more cookies! The Bethlehem Lutheran Church WELCA of Lanesboro, Minn. held their annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, October 6. The event was held at the Sons of Norway Lodge in Lanesboro with hundreds of dozens of cookies up for grabs. Customers with sweet tooths waited in line until the doors opened at 10:00 a.m. waiting to get their hands on the goodies. The Cookie Walk ends when the cookies are sold out.

When a customer walks in they are given a box with a plastic glove inside to wear as they pick out their cookies. The tables of cookies are arranged in a large square shape, so people can walk around and easily make their choices. Once you have all the cookies you would like, the WELCA women weigh your box of cookies, charging five dollars per pound.

The wide assortment of cookies makes choosing difficult with old-fashioned favorites such as date-filled, Aunt Sally, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Of course there were the ever-popular chocolate chip, peanut butter, and molasses cookies on the tables as well. Then there were the timely Halloween cookies and even some Christmas cookies! After sampling a few (or more) cookies it is easy to see why the Old-Fashioned Cookie Walk is an event many people look forward to every year.

Every year the same and quite old hand painted sign is placed on the curb to announce the annual cookie walk. It is a magnificent example of folk art and says "Old Fashion Cookie Walk". I have no opinion about the accuracy of your headline since the only cookie walk I have ever visited is the one here in Lanesboro. I do however take issue with your calling the event the Old-Fashioned Cookie Walk.
Different topic, but in a similar vein. How did the St. Mane Theater become the St Mane Theatre? For over twenty years it was always the St Mane Theater. In the last five years it has morphed into the St. Mane Theatre. Even says so on the marquee. Is nothing sacred?
