Jon David Daily, 74, of Chatfield died Aug. 17, 2012, at Chatfield Assisted Living Center where he had lived for six years.
Jon was born Feb. 3, 1938, in Rochester, to Harold B. and Florence H. (Goodsell) Daily. He graduated from Chatfield High School with the class of 1955. Jon served in the Army from 1961 to 1963 and then was in the reserves until 1967. Jon worked at Libby’s in Rochester, was a farmer and did rural paper delivery for the Post-Bulletin for 15+ years.
He was a member of the Orion Challenger 4-H Club when he was in high school. He was also in the school choir and was a soloist. John was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three sisters, June (Alfred, Jr.) Hanson of Fountain; Marcia Mohn of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Stephanie (Jim Hughes) Daily of Minneapolis; and one nephew, Scott (Heidi) Hanson of Chatfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Jody Christianson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Timothy J. Geranden officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Orion Cemetery in rural Chatfield with military honors by the Chatfield VFW Post #6913.
