Taste of the Trail and Fall Fest in Preston September 15

Bikers from near and far are invited to join in Preston’s “Taste of the Trail” event on Saturday, September 15 from 10am-3pm at the Preston Trailhead. Event schedule as follows: 10:15am-12:15pm – the “Root River Blue Grass Band” performs. Bikers are welcome to test taste a variety of local food samples while they last. Next up –“LifeNeverEnns” performs polka, classical, and Old Time Gospel from 12:30-2:30pm.
Interested bikers may also gather at the Trailhead from 10am-Noon to participate in a short bike ride led by a Forestville Naturalist, who will take bikers on a 20 minute tour along the river, sharing information about Preston’s history, geology, plants and wildlife. Rides will leave every half hour.
“Preston Fall Fest” events include a Pancake, Sausage, and Scrambled Egg Breakfast served by Preston Cub Scout Pack 67 at the United Methodist Church from 8-10:30am. For lunch the Servicemen’s Club is serving up their annual Chicken BBQ and all the fixin’s from 10:30am-2pm.
Kids Day Events will be held on the lower side of the Courthouse Square from 11:30am-1:30pm. Free snacks and drawings for prizes: seven new bikes, smoke detectors, Wii game system, Wii Fit Board, and more. See Sparky the Fire Dog, McGruff the Crime Dog, pet a pony, and take an ambulance tour.
End the evening at the Preston Firemen’s dance at the Servicemen’s Club starting at 8pm. “Flashback” performs live country, rock, ‘50s and ‘60s music. Purchase a Sportmen’s Raffle Ticket for a chance to win a 4-wheeler and trailer, or any one of 20 other prizes.
