Funeral services for Elizabeth M. Hare will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 5, 2012 at the Fillmore Free Methodist Church in Fillmore, MN with the Rev Mike Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the Fillmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Tuesday September 4, 2012 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and will continue for 1hr prior to the service at the church.
Elizabeth Hare, age 81, formerly of the Wykoff and Fillmore, MN area died Friday August 31, 2012 at the Ostrander Care Center where she had resided for about 4 years.
She was born May 14, 1931 in Fillmore Twp, MN to Enos and Dora (Fraser) Moon. She attended and graduated from Wykoff High School in 1949 and was united in marriage to Floyd Hare on February 3, 1950 in Preston, MN and together had three children; Eugene, Denise and Sandra. Elizabeth was active in the Mission Society at her church and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, doing crafts and mushroom hunting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and having her grandchildren over to spend the night. She always grew a huge garden to help support her family and always watched over her elderly neighbors. She also was a member of the birthday club, the local card club and the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Denise (Gary) Schwartz of Wykoff, MN and Sandra Hare Kern of Wykoff, a daughter-in-law Sue Thompson of Racine, MN, 7 grandchildren; Tanya Drewes, Joleen Schwartz, Amanda Himli, Tyler Thompson, Jesse Kern, Amy Schwartz and Bridget Ramaker, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 2 sisters, Donna (Roger) Zwart of Longville, MN and Monna Clemmons of Eau Claire, WI, 2 brothers, Omri Moon of New Egypt, NJ and Nevin (Betty) Moon of Rochester, MN and a sister-in-law Jean Moon of Wykoff, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband Floyd in 2009, 1 son Eugene David Hare, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Alice Hare and a brother Donavon Moon.
