Jerry Bauer, President of Bauer Built, Inc. of Durand, Wisconsin announces the acquisition of Hanson Tire Service, Inc. headquartered in LeRoy, Minnesota along with a location in Preston, Minnesota. Hanson Tire has been servicing the Midwest for the last 53 years. The effective date of the acquisition was August 20, 2012. This acquisition is the result of continuing efforts by Bauer Built to expand their existing operations as part of their overall growth strategy and provides Bauer Built with an opportunity to significantly increase their sales and service to the agricultural market which was a large part of the Hanson business.
Bauer Built will continue to offer the same services and the same product lines as Hanson Tire did including Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General, Hercules, Cooper, and Kumho tires. Bauer Built will also offer the most recent technology in retreading, “Michelin Retread Technologies, Inc.,” featuring many of the latest innovations and technological advances available to retreading customers.
Although the ownership has changed, Bauer Built plans to continue to operate the business under the Hanson Tire name. The current Hanson management team, including owners Randy Eastvold and Greg Rollins, along with Ron Eastvold will be assisting the Bauer Built management team through the transition and all but one of the Hanson employees have joined the Bauer Built team.
Bauer Built has been in business servicing the Midwest in the wholesale, commercial, and retail distribution of tires (new and retreaded), batteries, automotive services, and other related products for almost 70 years. With the addition of Hanson Tire, Bauer Built now has 31 Tire Centers, 7 Michelin Retread Technology retread plants, and 3 Rim and Wheel refinishing operations. They also operate a Bulk Petroleum business out of their headquarters in Durand which is what the company was originally founded on in 1944.
