Mary Kurdelmeier, 95, of Harmony, MN passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the Harmony Health Care Center in Harmony, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Canton, MN. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony is handling the arrangements.
Mary Viola Kurdelmeier was born 26 Feb. 1917 in Harmony, MN. to Lucy McCabe Roche and Edmund Roche. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1936. She continued her education at Winona State Teacher’s College and then attended Woodbury Business College in Los Angeles. Mary was married to Leonard Knick in 1938; he passed away in 1948. Mary spent several years working in doctor’s offices in Harmony. In 1951 she married Roy Kurdelmeier. He passed away in 2004.
Mary was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, golf, sewing, cooking and baking. She was a wonderful caregiver to her parents, family, and both husbands.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Lyle, Edwin, Delbert , Gerald, and 3 sisters, Mrytle Whalen, Allyne Snyder, and Irene Costigan. She is survived by 1 stepdaughter, Eileen Mensink, 5 grand stepchildren, 17 great grand stepchildren, 6 great-great grand stepchildren, 3 nieces, Geraldine (Dick) Trapp of Carson City, NV, Kathleen Roche of Santa Monica, CA, and Diane Roche of Arcola, IL, and 3 nephews, Eddie (Sandy) Whalen of Canton, MN, LaVerne (Nelda) Whalen of Rochester, MN, and Larry (Shirley) Whalen of Rochester, MN.
Memorials may be directed to the Nativity Catholic Church, Harmony Community Healthcare.
