As reported from the Spring Valley City Council meeting on May 14, a new officer will be on duty from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Daryl Jensen informed the Council that Deputy Samantha Keasling will be filling in for Kevin Beck in Spring Valley for 10-12 weeks.

Officer Keasling is from St. Paul where she attended training. Her first job as an officer was in Anoka County for several years and then she had a chance to move to SE Minnesota. She started out in Fillmore as a jailer and then an opportunity came up enabling her to become a licensed police officer.
