Janet M. Hovland, age 78, of Mabel, Minnesota died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa.
Janet was born September 29, 1933, in Arendal Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota to Ole and Mary (Anderson) Lemberg. She attended school in Peterson. On October 4, 1960, she married Daniel Hovland in Rushford. He later died in 1996. They had lived in Preston, Rushford, and Newburg. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and her cats.
Janet is survived by three children; Mary, David, and John, and a sister Delores (Larry) Jensen. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Obert and Benhard; and a sister Selma Larson.
Funeral services were Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial was in the Mabel Lutheran Cemetery.
