FREE Streamside culinary adventure

The National Trout Center in Preston, MN will host a free Streamside Culinary Adventure entitled “Wild Edible Plants and Trout”. The workshop takes place on Saturday, May 12 from 1pm-3pm in the city park at the Harmony-Preston Valley Trailhead, along the Root River in Preston.
The popular trend of eating local foods continues as participants in the free workshop learn to identify and cook streamside wild edible plants found locally along Southeast Minnesota trout streams.
Each spring a whole new variety of seasonal edible forest plants emerge. Workshop participants will learn plant identification, ethical harvesting techniques, cooking, and preserving of wild edible plants and trout. Enjoy samples of a variety of prepared dishes!
The National Trout Center also encourages families to attend the Free Kids Fishing Contest at Mill Creek Park in Chatfield, MN, also on May 12th, 9am-Noon. Consider attending both events for a full day filled with outdoor fun adventure.
