Marion Wentworth, 84, of Preston, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home in Preston.
Marion was born on January 13, 1928, in Fountain, Minnesota the daughter of Anton and Caroline (Anderson) Tangen. She attended country school, and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1946. After graduation she worked for the Preston phone company. On November 14, 1949, she married Arthur Wentworth in the Chatfield Lutheran Church. The couple farmed together in the Carimona area, and she also worked for HECO in Harmony. She also worked for RUSH products in Rushford and also L I C. in Stewartville.
In 1967, the couple moved to Preston. Art died June 8, 2009. Marion was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, was a Sunday school teacher for many years, and served as a church officer and participated in many of the church activities. She loved making quilts, watching twins ball games, and enjoyed spending time with her grandson Dylan and the rest of her family and friends. She also loved her special cat.
She is survived by her son, Kim (Tonya) of Harmony, her grandchildren Dylan of Preston, David Lawler of Sumter, South Carolina, Jessica Lawler of Harmony, and Hannah Ernst of Rochester; two sisters, Doris Burke of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Leda Meyer of Rochester. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 59 years, Art.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, 2012, at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston with Rev. Dave Jore officiating. Burial was at Carimona Cemetery rural Preston.
