Luella Penne, age 94, of Chatfield, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Chosen Valley Care Center where she had resided since 2001.
Luella Catherine Weber was born on March 29, 1918, in Cresco, Iowa to Frank and Carrie (Volkering) Weber. She married Raymond A. Penne on April 7, 1947 in Cresco, Iowa. Raymond died December 20, 1994. She lived in Cresco, Iowa until 1952, moved to Rural Fountain, then to Chatfield to the Chosen Valley Care Center in 2001. Luella was a member of St Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Fountain, American Legion Auxiliary in Fountain. She enjoyed Crocheting, needle work, playing cards and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Herman) Miller of Fountain; Carol (Bob) Huntington of Chatfield; and Diane (Jim) Peterson of Lanesboro; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Henrietta Wolf of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The funeral for Luella Penne was Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanesboro with Father Patrick Arens officiating. Burial was in Carrolton Cemetery, Rural Fountain following the services. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home of Lanesboro handled the arrangements
