Letetia (Tish) Ann Burkholder, 66, of Harmony, was welcomed home by God, Sunday April 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 11, 1945, in Houston County, to Elmer and Stella (Hoff) Stensgard. A 1963 Graduate of Peterson High School and attended Cosmetology School of Rochester following her graduation. She worked at beauty salons in Rushford, Houston, and Harmony. She then enjoyed some years home as a “stay home mom” homemaker. Tish later went to work for the City of Harmony, clerk’s office and Harmony State Agency. In 2006 she entered the benefits of retirement.
Tish was united in marriage to Philip R. Burkholder August 21, 1965, at the Grace Lutheran Church of Peterson, Minn. Together they loved camping, traveling, and attending the many activities of their sons, Tim and Brian. Over years of living a life with three “boys,” Tish learned the excitement of the Vikings, Twins or whichever team they decided to watch that day. She also enjoyed creating many beautiful items in her sewing room, working in her flower gardens, golfing, and spending time with and attending her grandchildren’s events; watching them grow was a blessing she lived for.
Tish was a loving wife, caring mother and a true friend. Her great spirit and contagious/one of a kind laugh was known by many and will truly be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Phil, of Harmony; two sons, Tim (Kim Higbe) Burkholder, of Rochester, and Brian (Julie) Burkholder of Chatfield; two grandchildren, Chandler Burkholder, of Brookings, SD; and Hannah Burkholder, of Rochester; sister Norine (Mike) Ask, of Lanesboro; two brothers, Ellsworth (Ruth Ann) Stensgard, of Houston, Wayne (Marian) Stensgard, of Harmony. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service was held Friday, April 20, 2012, at Greenfield Lutheran Church, Harmony. Burial followed at the Greenfield Cemetery, Harmony.
