A Rotational Grazing Tour will take place on Saturday, August 11, 9:30 am - 12 noon at the Jerry and Susie Frank farm 10775 Frank Rd., 3 miles North of Caledonia, MN, just off Highway 44. There will be signs on State Hwy 44 pointing to Frank Road. Registration begins at 9:00. There is no pre-registration and no cost.
There will be discussion of rotational grazing system for 100 beef cow calf pairs. Topics will include fence, pipeline and watering system, yield differences for nitrogen applications on pasture that already has enough legume to fix nitrogen, method for determining pasture yields, forage quality vs. soil test levels.
