Commonweal offers free performances to Fillmore and Houston County residents and employees

LANESBORO, MN — The Commonweal Theatre Company announces performance dates in 2012 for its Free County Nights Program. Theatre-lovers living and/or working in Fillmore or Houston Counties may attend Ibsen’s compelling drama Pillars of Society on Thursday, April 12; the outrageous comedy The 39 Steps on Thursday, May 17; the classic American romantic-comedy The Philadelphia Story on Thursday, June 21; the heartwarming drama The Drawer Boy on Thursday, September 13; and the family favorite holiday tale, A Christmas Carol on Thursday, November 29.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and while admission is free of charge, seating is limited and reservations are strongly recommended at least two weeks in advance. There is a limit of four free tickets per household.
Free County Nights at the Commonweal Theatre are made possible with support from the Preston Area Community Foundation, Rushford Community Foundation, Houston Dental Clinic, Randi Berg, M.D. of Harmony, Cross Cuts of Spring Grove, POET Biorefining, The Post-Bulletin, Spring Grove Cinema, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Associate Walter Bradley (Lanesboro), Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Associate Ken Bittner (Winona), and members of Commonweal’s Million Dollar Club. Individuals and businesses wishing to contribute their support to the Free County Nights Program are welcome to contact Stef Dickens, Commonweal’s Director of Development, at 507-467-2905, ext 214 or at stef@commonwealtheatre.org.
Funding for Commonweal Theatre’s programming is provided in part by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and private funders.
