William “Billy” Schmoll, 25, of rural Spring Valley, MN died Thursday (February 2, 2012) of injuries suffered in an auto accident on Hwy 63, south of Spring Valley.
William Eugene Schmoll was born March 30, 1986, in Kodiak Island, Alaska to Kevin and Monica (Mahon) Schmoll. He moved with his family at the age of six months to Stewartville, Minn. where he grew up, attended school, and graduated from Stewartville H.S. He was employed in construction for a short time and then was employed at Valley Design in Fountain, Minn. for a number of years, currently as a machinist. Bill enjoyed reading about and studying history, fishing, riding motorcycle, watching movies, and playing X Box. He enjoyed making people laugh, and was always pulling pranks on friends and family. He loved all his family and especially enjoyed being a grandson and uncle to his many neices and nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Monica Hammill of rural Spring Valley; his father, Kevin Schmoll of Rochester, Minn.; four sisters, Kristine(John)Spillers and Brienne of Mankato, Minn.; Danielle (Kirby Dudley) Schmoll and Graesyn of Eagle Lake, Minn.; Nancy (Brian) Paul and Kara, Sari, Elle, Abi, Caed and Zanna of Indianapolis, Ind.; Mandy Sample and Dylan, Nathan and Caleb of University Park, Ia.; significant other Teresa Pruitt, and their daughter MaKayla of rural Spring Valley; his grandmothers, Darlene Mahon of Rochester and Adaline Ramsey of Humansville, Mo.; and step-grandmother, Barbara Mahon of Stewartville; his paternal grandfather, Wilbur Schmoll of Ostrander, Minn.; step-siblings, Josh Hammill and Kiersten of Racine, Minn.; Kayla Hammill (Jared Kraetsch) and Kameran of Stewartville; Kristy Hammill (Adam Fretty) and Madalynn and Tayte of Chester, Minn. and Taylor Hammill (Trevor Lange) and Hailey and Carter of Preston, Minn. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Heather Schmoll, step-dad Gerald Hammill, and grandfathers William Mahon and Ken Ramsey.
The funeral service for William Schmoll was on Monday (February 6, 2012) at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville, Minn. with Rev. Brian Brinker and Andrea Brinker officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Arrangements were with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville.
