Audrey I. Engrav, 96, of Rushford, Minn. died on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center in Houston.
Audrey was born on June 13, 1915, in Houston, Minn. to Emil and Jane (Hostvet) Thronson. She was raised in Houston where she attended school. On January 14, 1934, she married James M. Engrav. The couple moved to Rushford, Minn. Audrey worked as a nurs’s’ aid for twenty years at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Audrey was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church where she was an active circle member. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. In her spare time Audrey enjoyed: knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, crafts, traveling, shopping, holidays, cooking, spending time with her family and talking about the “Good Ole Days”.
Audrey is survived by two children: Paul (Jeanneen) Engrav of Rushford and Jane (Wayne) Schuster of Brownton, Minn.; grandchildren: Timothy (Kris) Engrav, Kristina (Justin) Crowder, Alison Schuster, Oliver Schuster and Jillian Schuster; great-grandchildren: Abby, Alex, Caleb, Eli and Drake; sisters: Lyla Cruze, Marge Poppe and Norma Muenkel; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and brothers, Donald and Daniel Thronson.
There was a memorial service, celebrating Audrey’s life on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Rushford Lutheran Church or Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center.
