Paul Einar Erickson, 62 of Rushford, died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
Paul was born August 26, 1949, in Rushford to Einar and Lillie (Gudmundson). As a child, he worked on his grandparents farm, helped at his dad’s cement mason business, and worked at Russell Anderson’s Shell and Larry’s Mobil. He was confirmed at Rushford Lutheran Church and graduated from Rushford High School in 1967. On August 2, 1969, he married Sharon Yaeger in Amboy, MN. After marriage, he worked for Crenlo in Rochester and was a Foreman Lineman for Tri County Electric for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Rushford City Council for 20 years and a lifetime member of Rushford Lutheran Church.
Paul’s “favorite job” was being a father to his three daughters. He was a caretaker to his entire family and took care of his mother for many years. Paul had a strong work ethic. He enjoyed history, politics, and westerns and loved his dog, Callie.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Hope (Fred) Diekman of Stewartville, Sara Erickson (John Watne) of Roseville, and Lora (Scott) Boyum of Stewartville; four grandchildren, Diana, Ethan, Grace and Sophia; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Alex and Broderick; one step-great-grandchild, Rowan; brother, Robert (Joan) Erickson of Rochester; sister, Lynda (Ronald) Pancratz of San Antonio, TX; mother-in-law, Mildred Yaeger and many nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Don Yaeger.
Funeral Service was Monday, January 23 at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service handled arrangements.
