Rehearsals for Chatfield's Western Days Musical, Footloose, are in high gear and at an even higher energy level. Performances are August 11, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 14 at 5:00 p.m. at the historic (and-air conditioned) Potter Auditorium at Fifth Street and Highway 52 in Chatfield. Tickets are available at Skippy's Foods in Chatfield, and can be reserved by phone at 507-867-4272. Main floor reserved seats are $13, balcony, $9.

Footloose is based on the classic theme of energetic and restless young people trying to grow up in their parents' world. It features a variety of music, from 80's style back-beat rock to more traditional stage musical tunes. There is also a stronger focus on dancing than in previous Wits' End productions. For more information, go to the witsendtheatre.org web site or contact witsendtheatre@gmail.com.

Footloose is the 40th Western Days Musical Production, and the seventh for the Wits' End Theatre company.

Here is a sampling of scenes from recent rehearsals: Cast members come not only from Chatfield, but also Fountain, Preston, Lanesboro and Rochester.
