Josephine Manahan

Josephine Manahan, 87, of Chatfield, a retired secretary and cashier, died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield where she had resided since April 4.
Born Dec. 12, 1912, in Chatfield, she graduated from Chatfield High School in 1930 and attended Rochester Junior College and Winona Business College. She was a secretary at Wiebolt Department Store in Chicago for five years, a secretary and ticket agent at Northwest Airlines for 15 years and district cashier for Peoples Natural Gas for 10 years. Miss Manahan was a world traveler, an avid bridge player and a volunteer for Chatfield Tourism and the Chatfield Library. She was a member of Founders at Chosen Valley Care Center, Chosen Valley Golf Club, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Winona Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include two sisters, Alice Manahan of Chatfield and Eileen Holhinec of Northville, MI. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
A funeral Mass was held for Miss Manahan Monday, April 17, 2000 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chatfield with the Rev. Dan Dernek officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield.
Riley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
