Orville E. “Bob” Marzolf

Bob Marzolf, 81, of Preston, died at his home Thursday morning, April 27, 2000.
He was born January 30, 1919, in Preston Township, rural Preston the son of William and Nellie (Staplecamp) Marzolf. He attended North Windy Ridge School and worked with his dad on the family farm until purchasing and operating Bob’s Tavern in Preston for 25 years. He then was a custodian at the Branding Iron Restaurant in Preston for 14 years. He married Evelyn Carlin and the couple were later divorced.
He is survived by his special friend, Carol Hanson of Preston; one sister, Erna Hardford of San Jose, CA.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifford “Steve” Harland, Darrell and Leland “Bud”; three sisters, Doris, Geulah and Irene.
The funeral service for Mr. Marzolf was held Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the Preston United Methodist Church in Preston with the Rev. Marilyn Loken officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Preston. Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston was in charge of arrangements.
