Eugene Galles, Sr.

Eugene Galles, Sr., 84, a retired electrician, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport, LA.
He was born in Remsen, IA, on August 16, 1915 to Charles and Virginia Boltz Galles. He served as a Fireman 1st class with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Nell Bridges on May 18, 1956, in Hendersonville, NC. The couple moved from Shreveport, LA to Panola, TX in 1968. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall and was a 50 year Golden Club member of IBEW 194.
Survivors include his wife, Nell, of Panola; five sons; two daughters; three brothers Lawrence (Mary) of Adrian, MN, Lester (Betty) of Rice, MN, and Monsignor Francis Galles of Preston, MN; one sister Clara Risberg of Owatonna, MN; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Galles, Sr. were held Friday, May 12, 2000 at Chapel of Sallie Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage, TX with Revs. Donald Scott and Thumper Miller officiating. Internment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Panola, TX.
