Howard Himli, 79, of Punta, FL, formerly of Peterson, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.

He was born March 19, 1921, in Peterson and served in the Navy for five years during World War II with duty in the Pacific. After his discharge, he lived in LaCrosse, WI, for a number of years and owned and operated Howie’s Bait Shop. He retired to Punta Gorda and enjoyed biking and fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Barbara) of St. Paul and Robert (Kathy) of Riverside, CA; two granddaughters; a brother, Raymond (Dorothy) of Fountain; and special friend, Gloria Sanzone of Punta Gorda.

A memorial service for Mr. Himli will be conducted at a later date. The body was cremated.
