Cletus Marks

Cletus Marks, 68, of Wykoff, died Monday afternoon, May 8, 2000, at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a long illness.

Cletus was born December 31, 1931, in Slayton, MN, the son of Henry and Ruth (Neiderheiser) Marks. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He married Shirley Carlsen on March 17, 1955, in Currie, MN. The couple made their home in western Minne-sota until moving to Wykoff in 1967. He was employed at the Wykoff Feed Mill and then at Crenlo in Rochester until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Marks was a member of the Wykoff United Methodist Church, American Legion Posts, and was a 20 year member of the Wykoff Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ernie Manwarren of Emmetsburg, IA, Dawn and Fred Lacher of Hopkinsville, KY, and Denise and Lars Hepola of Shakopee, MN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Darlene of Wasilla, AK, David and Colleen of Ostrander, and Dale and Michelle of Ft. Campbell, KY; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bethel and Walter Albrecht of Windom, MN, Avis and Trueman Bondus of Westbrook, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

The funeral for Mr. Marks was held on Friday, May 12, 2000 at the Wykoff United Methodist Church with Rev. James Ross officiating. Burial with military graveside rites was held in the Wykoff Cemetery. Thauwald Funeral Home in Wykoff was in charge of arrangements.
