Virginia Klompenhower, 67, a resident of Shorewood Senior Campus, Rochester, a former secretary and teachers aide, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at Shorewood.
Virginia Mae Buss was born February 15, 1933 in Spring Valley, grew up there and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1950. On July 15, 1961 she married Robert Klompenhower in Spring Valley. Her husband was a sanitation supervisor at the Owatonna Canning Factory. He survives. She lived in Owatonna from 1973 to 1995 and then in Mankato, MN until moving to Rochester in November 1999. She had been employed as a medical secretary, a probation officer secretary and as a teachers aide in Owatonna schools. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna and did knitting for charity.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, John (Theresa) of Byron and Eric (Kitt) of Mankato; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Irma (Mick) Rathbun of Spring Valley and Janet (Aaron) Klompenhower of Preston.
The funeral for Mrs. Klompenhower was held Saturday, May 14, 2000 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Dennis Timmerman officiating. Burial was in the Spring Valley Cemetery.
