To the Editor,
The article written about the Amdahl twins in the May 15th issue was very interesting. Lorraine Hover was employed by my aunt and uncle, Ella and Casper Ladsten at the Newberg Store.
It stated that Dr. Nass had delivered twin boys shortly before the Amdahl twins to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson near Tawney. They are my brothers, Donald and Ronald Johnson, but were not premature. Donald is married and lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Ronald lived in Preston and passed away November 1997. He was married to the former Mildred Behnke of Preston. She passed away in 1982.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the bike helmet program. We had 232 bike helmets ordered. We consider it a huge success. It is great to see that the community is concerned about bicycle safety. We are considering offering the program again in two years. Thanks again for your interest and participation.

2000 Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society will be having their 6th annual Fillmore County Relay for Life on Friday, August 11, at Sylvan Park in Lanesboro. The event will begin on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and conclude Saturday, August 12 at 6:00 a.m. The Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's national signature event. This team event builds friendship among team members by having fun and raising money for a good cause. It's the perfect team-building event for any church, family, club, company or organization.
The event consists of teams of up to 8-15 people per team who spend 12 hours together in an effort to raise money and fight cancer. The object is to have at least one member of each team walking or running around a track for the entire event. However, some of the time will be spent listening to music, camping out, participating in a variety of activities, and enjoying the company of their friends, relatives and co-workers. Food, fun and friendship for everyone will be abundant. This year's Relay for Life event is sponsored by the Fillmore County Unit.
One of the highlights of the event is the Luminary Program which takes place at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Before and during the event, people may purchase a luminary in memory of, or in honor of, someone who has been touched by can-cer. These luminary bags are placed around the track and lit for a brief memorial program. This program is a visual demonstration of our need to raise money to fight cancer.
We hope to raise $30,000 from this year's event. We need your support! By forming or being part of a team, you will be a part of a great community event, raise awareness of the programs and services offered by the American Cancer Society, and help raise funds that will improve the quality of life for cancer patients today and the outlook for those diagnosed in the future.
