Leon Bailey, 70, of Princeton, formerly of Chatfield, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at the Princeton Rest Home in Princeton.
Leon Elmer Bailey was born September 19, 1929 in Chatfield to Thomas and Elma Bailey. On June 12, 1954, he married Delores Knutson at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro. They made their home in Rochester where he worked for Nelson Tire Company. The couple later moved to Babbitt, MN, where he worked in the iron mines for many years.
He is survived by three sons Gary Bailey of Babbitt, Daniel Bailey of Black Foot, ID, and Larry (Theresa) Bailey of Elk River, MN; two daughters Debra (Jeffery) Kwiaho of West Bend, WI, Jennifer (Lawrence) Holms of Cloquet, MN; five grandchildren Tony and Heather Bailey, and Michelle, Ryan and Jason Kwiaho; three brothers Frank (Dorothy) Bailey of Chatfield, Robert and Hubert Bailey of Boise, ID; and five sisters Ruby (Gordon) Auelir of West Hills, CA, Delores Summers of Paradise, CA, Lois Jean Ruesik of New Mexico, Darlene Helgerson of Wabasha, MN and Violet Bailey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, and two brothers Roy and Archie, and his parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Bailey were held May 20, 2000 at Range Funeral Home in Virginia, MN with Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Burial was in the Argo Cemetery in Babbitt.
