Marjorie Hermanson, 84, of Harmony, a retired business owner, died at the Harmony Community Nursing Home in Harmony on Friday morning, June 2, 2000.

Marjorie Ione Hollenback was born February 15, 1916 in Fillmore County, the daughter of Alvin and Gladys (Winslow) Hollenback. She was united in marriage to Henry Hermanson on June 17, 1937 at the Pilot Mound Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Pilot Mound area until 1960 and then owned and operated Hermanson Flower Shop in Harmony until their retirement in 1972. Her husband died in 1992.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine (Lloyd) Goetz of Rochester, Carol (Dan) Thompson of Fairfax, MN, and Sharon (Allen) Christianson of Harmony; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marion Peters of Rochester and Margaret Lake of Grantsburg, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, an infant son, a great-grandson and a sister, Mildred Dowdy.

Services for Mrs. Hermanson were held at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony on Sunday, June 4, 2000 with Rev. Jonathon Sorum officiating. Burial was in the Pilot Mound Cemetery, rural Lanesboro. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
