Harold Moger, 78, of Minnesota City, formerly of Fountain, died Friday, June 16, 2000 in the emergency room of Community Memorial Hospital in Winona.
He was born June 6, 1922, in Fountain and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1946 he married Virginia Peterson and they were later divorced. He came to the Winona area in 1951. Before his retirement in 1985, he had worked at ICI Fibrite for 15 years and previously for Kujak Trucking, Orville Sorem Trucking and the Lanesboro Sales Barn. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Winona and Lanesboro.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Gloria) and Larry (Teresa), both of Winona; a daughter, Donna Foster of Winona; two stepdaughters, Shirley (Donald) Zenk of Minnesota City and Mary (Frank) Beach of Clear Lake, IA; a stepson, Robert (Carol) Johns of Jefferson City, MO; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; a great-granddaughter; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford of Lanesboro and LaVerne (Romona) of Preston; three sisters, Pearl Bue of Chatfield, Deloris (Steve) Glynn of Illinois and Eva (Arden) Tufftin of Peterson; and special friend, Margaret Miller. A daughter and twin sons preceded him in death.
The funeral for Harold O. Moger was held Thursday, June 22, 2000 at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel in Winona, with the Rev. William Flesch officiating. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
