Pearl Jenson, 91, of St. Paul, a homemaker, formerly of Whalan and Preston, died Friday, June 23, 2000 at Good Samaritan Center in Roseville, MN, where she had been a patient one week.
Pearl O. Hanson was born September 11, 1908, in rural Whalan and grew up in the area. On March 11, 1933, she married Clifford Jenson at High land Prairie Lutheran Church. He died in 1972. Mrs. Jenson lived in the Whalan area until 1973 and then in Preston until moving to St. Paul to live with her daughter in 1996. She was a former home health aide and also worked in the kitchen and laundry departments at Preston Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Highland and a former member of Elstad Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Emory) Johnson of St. Paul; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Cyrus Hanson of Mabel. A brother preceded her in death.
The funeral for Mrs. Jenson was held Wednesday June 28, 2000 at First Lutheran Church of Highland, with the Rev. Paul R. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
