The Friends of the Lanesboro Library is hosting a discussion group with trained facilitators about the RACE Exhibit, currently on display at the Rochester Public Library. Discussion groups will meet on August 31 at 6 p.m. in the Rose Bell Memorial Room at the Lanesboro Public Library.

RACE: Are We So Different? is the first national traveling exhibition to tell the stories of race from the biological, cultural, and historical points of view. Combining these perspectives offers an unprecedented look at race and racism in the United States. The display includes interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, iconic objects, compelling photographs and multimedia presentations, which offer visitors an eye-opening look at its important and thought provoking subject matter. The exhibit opened at the Rochester Public Library on May 17 and continues through September 4th. The exhibit is open Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Everyone is encourage to attend both the Race Exhibit in Rochester and the discussion group at the Lanesboro Library. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you on August 31.
