Mildred E. VanSande

Mildred VanSande, 82, of Greenleafton, a former teacher and Sears employee, died Friday, July 21, 2000 in the emergency room of Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Born December 19, 1917, in York Township, Fillmore County, she grew up in the area and graduated from Wykoff High School in 1935. After completing normal teachers training in Preston in 1936, she taught in Fillmore County rural schools for six years. Miss VanSande worked in the mail order department at Sears in Minneapolis for 16 years before moving to a farm in the Greenleafton area with other family members in 1959. She was a member of Greenleafton Reformed Church and its women’s organizations.
A nephew and several cousins survive. Three brothers preceded her in death.
The funeral for Miss VanSande will be held at Greenleafton Reformed Church at a later date. The body has been donated to Mayo Clinic for medical research.
