William Doering, 66, of Wykoff, died Tuesday evening, August 15, 2000, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester of complications from cardiac arrest.

Bill was born June 28, 1934, in Spring Valley, the son of Earl and Goldie (Applen) Doering. He was raised in Spring Valley and graduated form Spring Valley High School in 1952. He served in the US Army from 1954-56. He worked with the family business, Doering Livestock, all of his adult life, first with his father and then as owner. At the time of his death, Bill was employed by Lewiston Sales, Inc., and had also clerked for Lanesboro Sales Commission. He married Ardell Meyer on June 21, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilson, MN. The couple made their home in Wykoff where Bill had resided since 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Ardell; one daughter, Elizabeth Doering of Plymouth, MN; one son, Bill of Bloomington, IN; one sister, Mary Jane (Alfred) Meyer of Henning, MN; three brothers, John (Sandra) of Rochester, MN, David (Nadine) of Redwood Falls, MN, and Charles of Wykoff, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry.

The funeral for Mr. Doering was held Saturday, August 19, 2000, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff with Rev. Kevin Woestehoff officiating. Burial was in the Spring Valley Cemetery. Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley was in charge of arrangements.
