Cordella Benson, 91, of Peterson, a former teacher, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.
Cordella Maland was born Sept. 26, 1908, graduated from Peterson High School, attended Waldorf College and received a teaching degree from Winona State Teachers College. She taught at Big Springs country school and Peterson Public Schools. In 1938 she married Clifford Benson. Mrs. Benson lived in the Peterson area all her life. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, WELCA and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Paul (Lorraine) of Peterson; a daughter, Joan (William) Kosters of Cresco, IA; and four grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.
The funeral for Cordella Benson was held Saturday, August 19, 2000, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, with the Rev. Frank Kerkemeyer officiating. Burial was in West Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Peterson. Hoff Funeral Homes-Cook Rushford Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
