Donald McDougall, 70, died Wednesday, August 23,2000, at Bear Creek Care and Rehabilitation in Rochester following a three-year illness.

He was born September 14, 1929, in Dover. He was a 1948 graduate of Dover High School, where he was on the track and basketball teams. On June 6, 1953, he married Charlotte Ulring in Chatfield. They lived in Dover until 1964, when they moved to Chatfield. In 1997, they moved to Rochester. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He farmed in the Dover, Greenleafton and Chatfield areas, worked for the Co-op station for 10 years and for Kark Rendering for 10 years. He was a member of Chatfield Lutheran Church and the Chatfield American Legion post. He enjoyed fishing, golf and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David (Nancy) McDougall of Northfield, MN, and Paul McDougall of Frankfurt, Germany; two daughters, Wendy Fieseler of Chatfield and Lori (Kevin) Ellis of Eagan, MN; six grandchildren; and a sister, Ardie (Everett) Grant of Dover. He was preceded in death by a brother.

The funeral for Mr. McDougall of Rochester, formerly of Chatfield, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Chatfield Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Eric Finsand officiating. Burial will be in Chatfield Cemetery. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
