LANESBORO, MINN. - The Commonweal Theatre, located in historic downtown Lanesboro, hosts its next "Commonweal Presents" event - Min Mor ("Mother") - on Wednesday, September 15th, at 7:30 pm. Performed by internationally acclaimed actress Bente Børsum, Min Mor tells the true story of Ms. Børsum's mother, Lise, who was the stay-at-home wife of a doctor living in one of Oslo's most select districts at the outbreak of World War II. Almost by accident, she stumbled into the resistance movement and in 1943 was arrested and sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp just north of Berlin.

This original, one-woman show premiered in November 2006 and has twice been featured as part of the repertory at the National Theatre in Oslo and has toured Norway on two separate occasions. In 2007, Min Mor received a Certificate of Honour at the European Women's Theatre Festival and the Prize of Honour at Poland's Suwalki Monlogue Festival in 2009.

Tickets for this limited run are on sale now at the Commonweal Theatre Box Office. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-657-7025 or emailing to tickets@commonwealtheatre.org, or by stopping in to the theatre located at 208 Parkway Ave N in downtown Lanesboro.

This fall, "Commonweal Presents" will also bring The Passion of the HouseFrau, performed by Bess Whelden, and Lessons from Cancer College, performed by Kristen Underwood, to the stage of the Commonweal Theatre for limited runs.
