Viola Emma Forrester, 76, of Preston, died Monday, August 28, 2000, in Preston Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

Viola Witte was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Jordan, Minn. She was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Austin. She enjoyed camping and cooking. She married Francis "Bud" Forrester.

Surviving are two sons, Gary "Butch" (Carol "Toots") Forrester and Dan, both of Austin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Liz Deyo of St. Paul; and a brother, Lyman Witte of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, four brothers and a sister.

A memorial service Mrs. Forrester was held Tuesday, August 29, 2000, in Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Don Deines officiating. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery.
