Melvin Nash, 95, of Wykoff, a retired farmer, electrician and carpenter, died Friday, September 1, 2000 at the Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, MN.

He was born June 11, 1905, near Cherry Grove. He lived in or near Wykoff most of his life. He married Sarah Hoopman in April 1928. The couple farmed and he worked as an electrician and carpenter around Wykoff for many years. His wife died in 1956. He married Irma Duparry Miland on Oct. 2, 1963, in rural Spring Valley and the couple lived in Wykoff. She died March 19, 1992. He made his home with his son in Coon Rapids, in 1996 and had been a resident of the care center for the last year. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff and was active in the Wykoff Senior Citizens. His hobbies included woodworking, trout fishing, card playing and playing his harmonica.

Survivors include one son, Myron (Thelma) Nash of Coon Rapids; two step-daughters, Margaret Bottorff of Rochester and Jewell (Stephen) Glady of Wykoff; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two
step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, one sister and two brothers.

The funeral for Mr. Nash was held Monday, Septmeber 4, 2000 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff with the Rev. Jerry Crow officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
