Floyd Tienter

Floyd Tienter, 83, of Spring Valley, a retired construction worker, died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at Ostrander Nursing Home where he had resided since February.

He was born Jan. 24, 1917, in Forestville Township, Fillmore County, and attended Stone School through the eighth grade. On April 3, 1939, he married Virginia Maricle in Cherry Grove. She died in 1991. Mr. Tienter was an avid fisherman and card player.

Survivors include five sons, Roger (Eileen), Dell Roy (Coquella) and John, all of Spring Valley, Jerry of Racine and Lester (Carol) of Onamia, MN; two daughters, Donna (Truman) Olson and Mavis Jordan, both of Grand Meadow; 31 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bernice Westphal of Ostrander, Olive Westphal of Spring Valley and LaVerna French of Dodge Center. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

The funeral for Mr. Tienter was held Wednesday, September 13, 2000, at Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Spring Valley, with the Rev. Steve Kuno of the Assemblies of God Church officiating. Burial was in Etna Cemetery in Bloomfield Township, Fillmore County. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Spring Valley was in charge of arrangements.
