Jayne Ilene Gossman, 69, of Preston, died September 20, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Granger, MN.

Jayne Finstad was born March 27, 1931 in Sunburg, MN, the daughter of Richard and Marina (Swenson) Finstad. She grew up in the area and attended school and graduated from Benson High School. She married Robert "Bob" Gossman August 16, 1958 in Preston and after living in several locations around the country they settled in Preston in 1972.

She was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church and was an avid bowler and golfer.

Jayne is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Gossman of Preston; three sons, Jeffrey (Leslie) Gossman of Spotsylvania, VA; Richard (Michelle) Gossman of Lime Springs; and Robert James Gossman of Stewartville; two daughters, Sheila (Ricky) Whitmer of Manassas, VA; and Victoria (Jeffery) Johnson of Granger; ten grand-children and one great-grand-child. She is also survived by two brothers, Carl (Violet) Finstad of Crystal, MN, and Kermit (Barbara) Finstad of Gettysburg, PA; one sister, Geraldine Wadsworth of Spicer, MN; several nieces and nephews and special friend Misty Heusinkveld of Wykoff; niece, Sandy Monroe of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Myron Finstad.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday at St. Columban Catholic Church in Preston, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial was in Sunburg, MN. Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston was in charge of arrangements.
