Marvin Severtson, 73, of Whalan, a longtime farmer, died Monday, October 2, 2000, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Born Jan. 12, 1927, in Whalan, he grew up in Whalan and farmed in the Whalan and Lanesboro areas most of his life. He also farmed in North Dakota for a number of years. Mr. Severtson was a member of Whalan Lutheran Church and Whalan American Legion and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.

Survivors include a brother, Arnie (Orpha) of Peterson. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral for Marvin O. Severtson was held Thursday, October 5, 2000 at the Whalan Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Hoff Funeral Homes-Cook Rushford Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
