Marian Olness

Marian Olness, 75, of Chatfield, died Saturday, October 21, 2000, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient since October 11.

Marian Irene Jones was born October 28, 1924, in Pilot Mound. She attended school in Chatfield and graduated from Chatfield High School, and then attended Minneapolis Business School. On June 30, 1948, she married Orval Olness in the North Prairie Church parsonage in rural Lanesboro. Mrs. Olness was a secretary for a bank in Rochester, and also for one in Dover. She lived in the Pilot Mound area until 1991, when she moved to Chatfield. She had been a resident of the Chosen Valley Care Center since January.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Kay Ulring of Inver Grove Heights, MN; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.

The funeral for Marian Irene Olness was held Tuesday, October 24, 2000, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eric Finsand of Chatfield Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Pilot Mound Lutheran Cemetery. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
