Harold Orman

Harold Orman, 66, of Spring Valley, a former Dexter-Brownsdale area farmer, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester where he had been a patient since Monday evening.

Born Jan. 17, 1934, in Wolbach, Neb., he moved to the Dexter area with his parents in 1937, graduated from Austin High School in 1952 and attended St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant. On Oct. 26, 1956, he married Darlene Lee at St. John's Lutheran Church near Sargeant. In 1956, he joined the Army, was stationed in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division, and after his discharge in 1958, returned to the Dexter area. He farmed in the Dexter-Brownsdale area until 1976 and then lived in the rural Spring Valley area until moving into Spring Valley in 1984. Mr. Orman had been employed at Rendahl & Highum Elevator and later Cenex Harvest States.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Susan (Steven) Horejsi of Rosemount, MN, Janeen (Scott) Behnken of Spring Valley, and Julie Orman at home; a son, Robert (Sharon) of Spring Valley; and five grandchildren. An infant grandson preceded him in death.

The funeral for Mr. Orman was held Saturday, November 11, 2000, at First English Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, with the Rev. Robert Burmeister officiating. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Spring Valley is in charge of arrangements.
